Kirtan

Kirtan ("to repeat") is a devotional chanting of God's holy names. It is recommended by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu as the yuga dharma of Kali Yuga ("duty of this age").

All the files on this page are live recordings of various devotees leading kirtan. Some are SoulConnection members, some are friends of SoulConnection. In any case, please take a listen to the melodious sounds of the kirtan! Be sure to also check out more of the recorded kirtans to your right!

How to Use This Page

To play the files, all you need to do is click the arrow button. The file will then load and start playing for you. If you would like to download the file, if there is an arrow pointing down, you just need to click that.

Featured Recordings

About Kirtan

Kirtan is generally performed with three instruments: a mridanga, a harmonium, and a pair of kartalas. The mridanga and kartalas keep the rhythm of the kirtan, while the harmonium keeps the melody.
